What our alumni say

“The FLE opened my understanding of what a family is and the purpose for which God instituted a family. The various aspects of human development, marriage and marital relationship, individuals and families in social context, parent-child relationship, human sexuality and the like has brought about an increasing knowledge, skill in counselling and change in attitudes. I recommend this course for any individual, special to the young adults who need to know the meaning of life, as we live in a world where young ones have no meaning and become educators of people around.”

It has changed my belief system and the values of family life. This education has influenced my life in many ways and a massive effect on my approach to many situations. My sincere appreciation & gratitude to all the faculties for being a great support and a guide for this entire course.”

“To begin with I must say that everything that I have learnt is a great insight…. I feel better equipped and my entire thought process has changed compared to beginning… before saying I am equipped to help others through this course, I want to express the fact that it has helped me in the first place… the classes were all so interactive and practical. The best part about teaching was the life of trainers themselves… Nothing could have been more effective to me if it wasn't from their own lives… It has opened up my eyes to think about everything around me with a new perspective… every topic was very much relevant to the real world instead of simply theoretical knowledge. I am thankful to God for such great support from the best institute…”

“I take this opportunity to thank God for enabling me to take a break from my busy schedule and enroll myself in UIM to do Post Graduate Diploma in Family and Marriage Counseling (PGDFMC). This course helped me to equip myself in knowing different counseling skills and enhanced my knowledge in counseling. It is an effective tool first of all for self-realization and inner healing. This course enabled me to find peace within; as a result there is peace and joy among family members and it also taught me to face stormy situation with confidence knowing my anchor is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Consequently, I want to exercise my learning with those who are struggling with parental conflicts; various issues in marriage relationship; children with behavioral issues at school and home etc. I am highly indebted to Mrs. Olive Nagarajan for her constant guidance and supervision as well as for providing necessary inputs at the right time. I would also like to thank Mrs. Sajitha Varughese for helping me with personal counsel. My heartfelt thanks to the efficient management at UIM and all other faculty, for enabling me to successfully complete the course with their support.”

“The Family Life Education Program has been extremely transforming for me. Coming with a long span of theological background, this course was a brand new experience that opened my eyes to significant areas of family life and life experiences that individuals go through. Out of relevance, my theological education had no logical reason to cover what has been covered in this course. Now I feel competent to function in my calling to minister as a family life educator with a balance between the theological and practical and real life aspects of Family Life. I am deeply thankful for this program.”

“PG Diploma in Family and Marriage Counselling (2019-2020) was a very enriching learning experience. Though the classes were held only for 6 weeks, they were comprehensive. Thorough learning was ensured throughout the year through class room practicums, case studies, assignments, role plays, psycho education sessions, project preparations, group counselling sessions, personal therapy sessions, supervision sessions etc. We were helped to keep up to the requirements through much prayer, encouragement, devotional sessions, regular follow ups and finally through physical help wherever required. I was truly encouraged, helped, built up, guided and challenged to pursue my passion through all the interactions I have had with the faculty. They helped me to the best of their abilities to equip me adequately enough to handle counselling sessions with much confidence. I sincerely appreciate their labour of love.”
